Data Vis How-To Series: Geospatial Data with QGIS and ArcGIS Online

A growing amount of research involves the use of geospatial information, that is, information related to specific geographic locations on Earth. This session will introduce and briefly explore the capabilities of QGIS, a free, open-source software tool, comparable to Esri's ArcGIS software, that allows users to create, edit, analyze, visualize, and publish geospatial information. Installation instructions and datasets will be provided ahead of time to allow active participation during the session.
