Programming Data Vis: R with ggplot2 and Python with matplotlib Online

For greater flexbility, programming languages such as R and Python are commonly used for data analysis and data visualization. Both offer code libraries focused on data visualization creation. During this session, we will briefly discuss why you may choose to use a programming language for data visualization rather than some of the other tools. We will then demonstrate the basics of creating data visualizations in each language. Instructions for installation of tools along with demonstration datasets will be provided ahead of time for use during the session.

[This session is NOT a general programming instruction workshop for either language.]
