GenAI Tools - Introduction to Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) Online
Google's Gemini Notebook is a GenAI-powered research assistant using Google's Gemini learning language model. During this learning session we will explore some of the ways Gemini Notebook is distinct from GenAI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Copilot. Of particular significance, Gemini Notebook focuses on the sources you provide. Those sources can be various formats such as pdf documents, websites, YouTube videos, Google Docs, your own notes, and more.
We will show the process of building a notebook of sources and then applying the numerous functions of Gemini Notebook to those sources. You'll learn how Gemini Notebook offers not just focused GenAI chat but also the ability to create audio and video overviews, slide decks, reports, mind maps and more.
Finally, we will consider possible use cases for our academic environment.
