Data Visualization Essentials - Choices and Applications Online
Once we understand the concepts, principles, and considerations behind data visualization, we still have a couple choices to make. What data visualization type to use and what data visualization creation tool to use. In this session we will
- explore some principles and resources to assist us in choosing the appropriate chart, graph, plot, map, etc., type for our data
- discuss some general principles for selecting the most effective data visualization creation tool for our purpose
- compare the three most prominent data visualization creation tools; Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, and Tableau
- briefly mention other data visualization creation tools such as scripting languages and GIS
